There are lots of ways to close a wedding ceremony. These days bubbles see a popular option. Some couples will give each guest a container with rose petals, to shower them after the “I dos.” Other folks release balloons, and I’ve even seen those with connections to the UK, use traditional British “poppers” at the end of the wedding. But Jessica and Mark had something else in mind—sparklers!
From a fireworks loving part of the world, I was giddy about the prospect of lighting sparklers, when following their first and introduction as “Mr. & Mrs” in the always beautiful Bethesda Arcade. I didn’t ask too many questions, as this isn’t a Central Park sanctioned wedding flair. What I know is this: they secured seemingly mammoth sized sparklers and distributed them to each guest, with lighting to take place at the end of the ceremony. It created a beautiful effect in the shadowy arcade. And I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. Enjoy the short video concluding with the fireworks!
