Occasionally one of my couples seeks a stately academic backdrop for their ceremony as was the case for Physicians Elaine and Ben. Their venue pick? The stately Yale club in midtown Manhattan. There is no doubt that I am prejudiced about this wonderful building as I attended graduate school at Yale, more years ago than I care to remember.
The ceremony was simple, yet elegant just like the library where vows were exchanged. With beautiful bookshelves surrounding the perimeter of the library, few decorations were required. The vows were exchanged between two classic pillars that overflowed with flowers. Similar arrangements greeted the guests as they entered the library which featured standard theatre style seating. One could literally feel the spirit of Yalies past that leisurely read and studied here! Cocktails and dinner followed in the elegant upper floors….. Decorated in beautiful blues that Bulldogs love.
All I can say is Boola, Boola!! Congratulations to the lovely and generous Elaine and Ben!
